Jigsaw puzzles are like science, because you look at different parts of an object to learn how to piece them together or relate them to other objects. This helps scientists find answers to a hypothesis.
Puzzles are like science because you have to work at the problem piece by piece and sooner or later it will all work out and it will become clear of what the solution is. Chasity S. Block 3
Putting a puzzle together is an analogy to the scientific method because one must follow a method of discovering information about the picture to determine the end result. When the puzzle is missing some pieces, like in theoretical science, one must make an inference based on the pieces given. Daniel Davis Table 7 Biology 10-3
A jigsaw puzzle that is missing pieces is a great example of science because science is never ending. It is filled with infinate dicoveries because even when think you have discovered everything, an other discovery appears. I think this is because we live in an ever changing world. So things are constantly adapting to their changing evironment. I think it is because of these factors science is infinate. Because if it wasn't ifinate it would be like a history class where everything has been "pre" accomplished.
In a jigsaw puzzle you have to link all the pieces you have to see what it is and you might not find all pieces. In science, you put evidence together and figure out what it is and you might not find all the evidence. (Block 3)
Many scientists never have the answers in one place in front of them. They spend years of research just to get their pieces, and much more time making sense of the data they have found. Luckily the pieces were given to us, but like a scientist would have to everything had to come together and make sense. Kaine Daugherty. Block 3. Table 6.
Placing together the pieces of the puzzle with a team emulates the way scientists work together to find answers to an overall problem. Also, the missing pieces of the puzzle could refer to the fact that there is always work to be done and all of the answers aren't readily available. Just basic problem solving really.

We think that it pertains to science, because not every scientist has all of the pieces.

A jigsaw is similar to science because for both you never know the entire picture until you put all the same pieces together...
In a jigsaw puzzle, you must put pieces together to solve problems.
